Yes, that is what we are here for. Babic Interiors is independent of any supplier of window treatments, preferring to pick and choose across many suppliers. This means we can offer a large choice of products and ones that are right for your home.
That’s what we’re here for! By seeing your room with existing furnishings and accessories our designer can give great advice on colour, texture, style and hanging hardware. If it’s hard to visualise a style we often send photos of examples with an estimate. We have an introduction to curtain heading styles here.
Whilst you may find cheaper curtains and blinds, focusing only on PRICE often means compromising on QUALITY. If you’re looking for superior craftsmanship, we’re here to help. Our expert curtain makers in Ealing specialise in traditional, detailed sewing techniques, including hand-finishing, to ensure your window treatments have the perfect drape and long-lasting durability. We believe that window coverings are an investment in your home, and we refuse to cut corners on quality. Our aim is for you to feel as proud of our work as we do!
Generally we don’t advise you to do this as problems can arise. Use our professional curtain and blind fitter for best results.
We are based in Ealing and cover most West London areas including Chiswick, Kensington, Hammersmith, Fulham, Belseize Park, Richmond, Maida Vale, Kilburn, Ealing. If the job is very large ie. several curtains and blinds we may consider doing it. In the past we have worked in Central London areas as well as Putney, Dulwich and Herne Hill.
Between 4-8 weeks for stitched items. A lot depends on the weight of work we have at the time and availability of chosen fabric etc. If you are ordering hard blinds such as roller or Venetian the timescale is shorter.
Absolutely! We are a bay window specialist. If you need tracks and poles to be supplied and specially bent this is all part of our professional service.
Please take care when deciding to dry clean curtains and blinds as most will get easily damaged. There are a few specialist firms who guarantee good results but generally we don’t recommend dry cleaning. Some firms will come to your home to clean but this is more of a vacuum and ‘refresh’ than an in depth clean. The best way to maintain your curtains or blinds is by vacuuming on low suction with a clean upholstery brush. Concentrate on the upper most areas as that’s where dust settles most. Most fabrics will stay clean if you do this a four or five times a year.
Our expert fitters will look after the installation of all items supplied to you by us. In the case of larger jobs our designer will personally attend the fitting to make sure everything is done to perfection.
Yes, we offer an amazing reupholstery service which can include renewing cushion pads, re-glueing wobbly legs, staining and painting. We can advise and supply hard wearing fabrics for indoor and outdoor use.
Yes, we use soft handle blackout fabric for curtains and roman blinds. We also have an extensive range of blackout roller blind fabrics. We can also make roller blinds in your special choice of fabric or have an image digitally printed on a blind. For total blackout we have some blockout blind solutions for suitable windows.
Yes! we offer lots of choices of blinds and there are others. Once we see your window opening we can offer you some considered choices.
Absolutely! There are many choices we can offer you once we see your space.
If we are fitting new items we have supplied then yes we do. Usually holes in walls will normally be filled and decorated by your decorator.
Ahead of a home visit we will normally have spoken to you and prepared suitable sample swatches or books to show you. If we do not have what you’re looking for we will either get more fabric swatches sent to you or advise you of handpicked websites with good search engines that you can explore. We can then order some swatches for you free of charge.
Yes! If you want to be more involved in the process of choosing fabrics we can pay a visit together to The Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour. There are many fabric showrooms there as well as furniture, lighting etc. Please be aware that they are only open on weekdays.

Yes we do. We supply a range of automated motorised curtain tracks and blinds. Some are hard wired and others are battery operated. There is also the possibility of app control.
Yes, you can choose any fabric from the major fabric houses such as Designer’s Guild, Swaffer, Sanderson, Romo etc. We supply fabric from most well known established names.
Yes you can but it needs to be supplied on a bolt (rolled up) in order to prevent creasing. There is normally a surcharge for supplying your own fabric not least because we are unable to quality control it. Flaws can and do occur in fabric and in these cases we need to make you aware so you can decide what to do.
For a small pair of curtains in a quality fabric, lining, track/pole, fitting and hanging the typical cost would start around £1000.
We do not offer conservatory roof blinds but we do sell blinds for the vertical windows. We can fit manual Velux skylight roof blinds. An unusual light covering we do are sail shades although these are static light filtering items. Please ask for details.
Unfortunately we rarely do this especially if they have been up for a while. There is usually too much dust and this contaminates our workroom.
Not usually as in recent years we are required to use child safe chain operated systems that have replace the old cord and cleat mechanism. Please call a local curtain fitter and ask for help with this. If it is a blind that we have supplied and you are local we may be able to help you.
Hand finished curtains usually hang and look better than machine finished. This is particularly true of large curtains where the lining and fabric should be held together by careful internal stitching which is impossible to do by machine. When curtains are entirely machine made the are ‘bag lined’ meaning that lining and fabric are sewn on two or three sides and turned out – like a bag. This may be fine for small curtains but such construction sometimes leads to puckering and the edges curling rather than having a sharp, neat edge. Machine finishing large curtains or roman blinds leads to a messy result. Hand finished lined curtains look and hang better as more care to tension can be taken. Weights are inserted into the hem so that seams lie flatter. Lining is attached by hand internally so that the face fabric holds close rather than splaying out seperately. Headings look much better when they are made by hand and there is more flexibility for proper tailoring. Some unlined curtains can be entirely machine stitched but it depends on the fabric in question. Our roman blinds are always hand finished. You will not see any puckered machine sewn lines on our blinds as all the stitching is done internally by hand. Finally, we normally determine the best way to construct a curtain or blind once we know the fabric, style, hanging hardware etc. Hand finishing takes more time and is therefore more costly. Large, national companies will usually give you the most cost effective option which involves fast making with little attention to detail, but will you be happy with it?
Yes we can but we need to pick certain fabrics, linings and styles. Voile/net curtains are usually washable. Large curtains will be impossible to wash and trying to put them in a washing machine is sure to ruin them.
Ready made curtains are bulk made in set sizes and fabrics to keep the cost down. They will not usually fit your window or pole perfectly. They are normally too short, too wide, too narrow or the hanging hardware is not suitable. Made to measure curtains are tailored specifically to your window and track or pole. Bay window curtains usually need to be made to measure. We do not sell any ready made curtains.
