Project specification
This residence had formerly been used as a small private school and features a large foyer/hallway. We wanted to create a sense of drama about this unusual space and so designed a bespoke, handmade wool rug which was inspired by the colours in the original stained glass window. Other rooms in the house needed refurbishing and specifically the living room which is north facing and felt very cold on account of the neutral coloured furnishings and black painted floorboards. To make the room come to life we used colour to its full advantage whilst still complementing the period of the house. A textured wallpaper in warm green contrasted perfectly the cold, black marble fireplace. The choice of colours for the rest of the room and its comfortable furnishings incorporated warm golds and reds. A green murano glass chandelier in contemporary classic style dominates the room in an understated way making this room striking yet cosy and inviting.
